Week 1 is officially over! I weighed in today and according to my scale I lost 1.2 pounds but according to my Wii Fit I lost 1.7 pounds so I am going to go for the middle and say I lost 1.5 pounds this week. Woohoo! I honestly thought I would have gained weight since my body has been going through serious strength training workouts 3x a week.
One of the things I learned from my personal trainer back when I worked with one was to expect to stay the same or gain on the scale many weeks during the long haul to getting fit. When incorporating strength training you are building muscle which is essential to your long term goals. The more muscle you have the faster your body burns calories. Muscle also weighs more than fat so there will be times you are building muscle and losing fat but it won't show on the scale.
So, I take my 1.5 loss with a grain of salt. I don't pay much attention to the loss of pounds on a scale. I actually ordered one of those handheld things they use at the gym that tell you your body fat percentage and BMI so can't wait to start tracking my body fat % loss over time!
I didn't do measurements today and decided to wait until next weigh-in since my original measurements were taken on day 4 of week 1.
This morning I am wearing some crop pants that I haven't been able to get on in a long time and they fit comfortable! I can already feel a difference in myself and my body!
Looking forward to Week 2!!
Keep Moving,
