I had a great day at the gym today. I was worried I wouldn't be able to do as much as I wanted to do because I have been having some severe ovary issues but the pain finally dulled enough for me to move without hurting so much. Lara and I hit the weight machines pretty hard today, especially since it is our "sculpt" day. We did the Tony Horton exercises and then added some extra time on the machines working the back, abs, legs, and arms.
I read something online on a cardio workout during one of the Jillian Michael's Q&A on a 15 minute workout to get a good calorie burn so I gave that a try as well. I don't know that I can do it again, will see how my knee feels in the morning, because it was pretty high impact on my knee....but all I know is I tried and I DID it so I am proud of that. It was using speed intervals on the treadmill. Go into a full blast run for 30 seconds 4 times with 4 minutes of recovery in between. During the recovery you bring it down to a slow jog or a comfortable walking pace. I did my running for my 30 second blasts at 7mph. Not olympic speed but for me - 7 is pretty damn good.
OK so I have a new LOVE! The SAUNA! Man, we hit the sauna after our workout for 15 minutes and after I finally learned to breathe I found I really loved it. My muscles felt sooooo nice....I am definitely going to hit that dry sauna up after my next workout. Felt like a little splurge of luxury :)
Keep Moving,
