Today was our 2nd personal training session with Brandon and I have to say that I am definitely going to feel that workout in the morning! We did a circuit type workout in the tennis courts which was nice because it was so windy that the courts shielded us from the cool winds. Surprisingly I was able to run more today than Monday and I wasn't even trying as hard! We did a jog around the tennis courts and then walked and then did another jog for a span of 2 minutes and then walked. It didn't even feel like we had run for 2 minutes straight. I felt good about that considering on Monday I struggled through the 60 second jog. :) That was our little warmup, jog/walk...
Today was leg day. The circuit was a mix of a cardio to get the heart rate up and then a lower body exercise for strength training. We did jumping jacks, squats, lunges, calf raises, sumo squats, used a basu ball & stability ball, etc...By circuit 3 I was definitely out of breath and my heart was kicking! LOL! A good workout though :)
Tomorrow we have arm day....but I am looking forward to RUNNING! I am determined to build up my ability to run even if it is in 30 second increments.
We went to Luke's Locker today and I got a new pair of running shoes! This place is so neat. They make you walk and jog barefoot so they can evaluate you and fit you for the right shoe, ask you questions on your running, and then try on different shoes until you find the one that feels most comfortable. My new shoes are SOOO comfy that it doesn't even feel like I am wearing shoes!! Can't wait to try them out tomorrow! Woot! After tomorrow's workout we are going to get Lara fitted for new shoes.
My pet peeve of the day? People who think that in order to do something for someone else they need to barter. What on earth ever happened to doing nice things for people just to be NICE? Not because you want or expect something in return. I just don't relate to that mentality. It is sad that people are so accustom now to expecting things in return for offering their help that when someone offers to help without strings it seems like a wild concept. Maybe every time I do things for others, without expecting something in return, and at absolutely no cost, it will help change people's attitude's, one at a time...One can hope :)
Cheers,
M E
