Today we slept in until 9am and then rolled out of bed, showered, loaded the car, had breakfast in the Bistro, and checked out of the hotel. We headed down to the Rivercenter Parking garage and made our way to the IMAX for the 11am showing of "The Alamo - Price of Freedom". Cristian was completely in awe of the film and was MAD when Davy Crockett was killed defending the Alamo. Down in the gift shop he bought himself a toy replica of Davy's gun, "Old Betsy", and already was sporting his faux coonskin hat that we bought at Riverwalk our first day. He was so excited to get the gun. I saw a near Texas souvenir and cracked up when I turned it over to see..."Made in China". Wow...
We walked around the busy Alamo and took a few pictures. We went into the gift shop and I bought Cristian an Alamo bear with a Davy Crockett coonskin hat on. He was STOKED!!!
After the entertaining show from the squirrels, we said adios to the Alamo, got into the car, used our free 3 hour parking validation, and hit the road!
We stopped at a Cracker Barrel for lunch and then headed home! We stopped at the Bliss Cafe in lower Dallas which is a raw vegan restaurant we have never been to and surprisingly I really digged it. I even ordered a super food chocolate bliss speciality drink which I had to FIGHT Cristian for because after he took one sip he wouldn't give it back. I managed 2 sips and Lara managed to grab 1 and then the little turd downed the entire drink on his own. LOL!
We had an awesome family vacation in San Antonio and plan to go back in the summer!
Cheers,
M E

After watching the Alamo movie at the IMAX we did a little shopping in the area and then headed to the Alamo. Cristian got out his camera and took some of his own pictures but he was so excited to explore the Alamo that he didn't want his hands tied with his camera for too long. Here are a few of the shots he took himself...

The line to get inside the museum area of the Alamo was around a block and a half so we didn't bother with that. But, we did get a fun and entertaining show from a couple of mating squirrels! It was so funny and Lara got some AWESOME shots of them too! Check these out...After the entertaining show from the squirrels, we said adios to the Alamo, got into the car, used our free 3 hour parking validation, and hit the road!
