This morning when I woke up I wanted to kick my trainer Brandon's booty because I was SORE SORE SORE in the front thighs. Oh my goodness...the first time I tried to squat took let's just say several minutes to talk myself into it :) I can't remember feeling this sore since day 1 of boot camp when I worked at Dave & Buster's 8 years ago! Wow! It's all good though becausee it means that I got a GOOD workout and that the next time it will be that much easier for my muscles to regroup :)
Today was arm day. The nice part about arm day? NO running today. We did speed walk between circuits but no running. The not so nice part of arm day? No rest between exercises and between shoulder presses, fly outs, triceps/biceps curls, and resistance bands...wow I know I am going to feel this in the morning. Then my upper body soreness can match my lower body soreness just in time to do all over again in a couple days. I love it :) In light of how hard it all feels and how sore I am - it is all worth it because it is helping me become healthier and more fit - so bring it on!
Today I had my Shakeology for breakfast with Almond Milk - yum. Lara and I had Chipotle for lunch and my veggie bowl was low in calories and really good! I made a mix of organic veggies (carrots, zucchini, squash, broccoli), organic veggie burgers made with quinoa, walnuts, and carrots, and a mix of organic fruit (raspberries, strawberries, blueberries) for dinner. It was so flavorful. It feels like every time I go to Whole Foods they have even more veggie burgers and meatless meats to pick from and they are all soy free :)
I finally booked our Medieval Times event for Sunday at 5pm. They sent us 3 free tickets, free knighting ceremony, free photo with dress up...in order to make up for a goof during our initial visit for Cristian's bday! How cool! He is super excited! Aside from that we get to see our 17 year old niece tomorrow for lunch. Lara's mom is bringing her up here to shop for a dress for her dance. Haven't seen her since Dec so will be nice :) Miss that little brat LOL
I had an interesting revelation the other day. We went to Boston Market for dinner the other night and I got a veggie plate. I was in this really funk mood and rather than look to comfort food or dessert I didn't need to have I decided I would "treat" myself to a Diet Coke. I gave up soda at the beginning of the year and have become a dreaded tea drinker since. Well...after one sip of the Diet Coke down the drain it went. I couldn't believe how different it tasted to me. Here I thought I would be giving myself a treat and instead I couldn't understand how I ever ENJOYED drinking that crap in the first place. It felt like I melted a hole in my stomach in the first sip. Wow...needless to say back to tea I went :) Nice to know I kicked that habit for good.
Cheers,
M E
