We started off the morning with a fun group picture on the couch in the hotel room. Here we are with our smiling selves! We were ready to head out for our day at Sea World!
Once we got through the entrance we spotted Shamu and Cristian wanted to take a picture with him. It was cute! It's funny that Sea World does something similar to Disney's Photo pass. We took our own picture though.
There are only a few rides at Sea World and half of them Cristian isn't tall enough to ride but he was tall enough for the "Journey to Atlantis" and he didn't care how long that line was he wanted to RIDE THE BLUE RIDE! Since that sucker is so high up in the air and Lara would rather lay on a bed of nails than face that fear of heights she has, I went on the ride with him. The "30 minute wait" turned out to be a 60 minute wait but it was SO much fun. He was all brave and excited until the thing turned backwards and then I couldn't tell if he was going to throw up or cry. It turned back around a few seconds later and he was back to excited. I should mention that we also were put in the very first row in the front of this boat so that added to the moment for sure. As soon as we hit the big drop, this is a big flume type ride with a steep drop that gets you drenched, he started screaming and grabbed a hold of my arm. I LOVE the picture that it took of us because his expression is priceless. It is hysterical! Needless to say we got soaked! At the end of the ride he said, "Mimi, that was SO fun let's do it again! I didn't even scream or get scared". LOL! How quickly they forget, eh? :) Here we are after the ride...
No trip is complete without some carnival games. Cristian on his first try won a HUGE shark and on his 2nd try won a small lobster stuffed animal. He was pretty excited. Here he is with his new "babies".
Next, we hit up the Beluga Whales Show and it was a lot of fun! Cristian was completely in awe of the animals. Before the show, they had this crazy "clown" that did all kinds of different things that got the people in the splash zone soaked. Here is a shot of him trying to stop the flow of water from shooting at him with his foot...
The show itself had all kinds of things from the Beluga whales and trainers to a lady dressed like a bird doing an acrobatic show. They also had divers and synchronized swimming. Here are a few shots from the show. We didn't bring our Nikon to Sea World but instead opted for the waterproof point & shoot.
At Dolphin Cove Cristian got to lay on his tummy on the wall and a dolphin swam up to our side and he got to pet it. That was pretty neat for him. The line to buy a tray of food to feed the Dolphins was so long and they ran out of food trays about 1/4 of the way through the line so we didn't even attempt that one. But he got to splash his hand in the water and touch the dolphins that swam by us which was just as neat.
We didn't take very many pictures because the camera died half-way through the day but here are a few photo ops during our day at Sea World. We have a pass good all year long and definitely want to come back in the summer and see the shows we missed and have more time with the animals. That was the best part!
I ordered the Quinoa Burrito which had Quinoa, beans, avocado, spinach, tomato, sprouts, and raw pecan hummus in a whole wheat tortilla. It was the most AMAZING thing - it was so good that I could have had that one thing for lunch and dinner every day I was there.
We also had yummy dessert! They have these vegan cupcakes of all kinds and vegan coconut choc. chip cookies/vegan chocolate choc. chip cookies. Cristian and I got the cookies & cream cupcake. Lara had the red velvet cupcake and we ordered 2 of the chocolate choc. chip cookies (made with flax seeds) to take with us...these were so good!!!
Had a great 2nd day in San Antonio! Chilled out at the hotel and went to bed before 11 so we could get plenty of sleep for the early start we had planned for Day 3 at the Natural Bridge Caverns!!
Cheers,
M E

Cristian still didn't really understand what Sea World was when we got there because the only theme park he had been to was Disney World (that he would remember anyway). Here he is posing with the Shamu statue wondering what in the heck Sea World was and when did he get to ride the rides, LOLOnce we got through the entrance we spotted Shamu and Cristian wanted to take a picture with him. We also saw the Sea Lion show which was my favorite!! They are just such adorable animals. We were at the end of the splash zone in this show but we got DRENCHED!! I was able to squeeze water out of my shorts when we left! But, it was such a cool show and Cristian was laughing the whole time. In the show water pours from the top of the set into the crowds and Cristian screamed and jumped into the lady's lap next to us when it happened. It was too funny! Our Point & Shoot died halfway through the show so I didn't get very many pictures. Here are a few of my favorites...

After Sea World we went for dinner at "Green" which is a 100% Vegetarian restaurant only a mile or so from our hotel. This place is SO awesome. I could almost drive to San Antonio just to eat there. I wish they had a location in Dallas. It is by far the BEST vegetarian food I have ever had...anywhere. Cristian loved it too!
Lara ordered Zucchini Enchiladas Dinner which had coconut citrus rice and black beans...
