I'm really stepping up my game starting this week. This is the start of Week 8 and I plan on doing no less than 60 minute workouts - 6x a week. I am going to up my game from 30 - 45 to 60 as a minimum. Lara and I started a new routine this week. We are fitting in one of our workout DVD's in the morning each day so that by the time we hit the gym in the later part of the day after work and Cristian's activities we would have already gotten a 30 - 45min cardio in that day! Yeah, I love the sound of that!
So, today during our lunch hour, we did the Leslie Sansone "Walk & Kick" workout which is a power walk with kickboxing circuits. It was 31 minutes but it was a great workout. I burned 272 calories in the workout and 45 minutes later still burning at 4.5 calories a minute! Yeah!
Tomorrow I am going to try Hot Yoga with Lara and a friend of ours that LOVES yoga and swears that it will soon be added to my ever growing list of addictions. :) So, I am going to take her word for it and we are going to do the 60 minute hot yoga class tomorrow. I hope to survive in that 95 degree room for 26 poses! LOL! Should be interesting to say the least!
Over the past 7 weeks I have really felt an incredible difference. Getting back to an active lifestyle just feels great, no other way to describe it. It also helps that we have switched to a completely healthy way of eating. There is nothing processed, refined, white, sugary, or with artifical sweetener, color, or flavor in the house at all. We have been buying everything whole wheat and gone completely organic. I can FEEL the difference in what I eat. There is something to be said about your food being free from pesticide, hormones, antibiotics, and junk. Sure, it is a little more expensive - but I feel good about eating it. Pretty much if it comes in organic - that is what we buy. Cristian's taste buds have even changed since we have been eating so much healthier...
