M E
I can't believe it has already been 8 weeks since I decided to trek on this healthy journey to a new ME.  Time sure flies fast...I don't even notice the changes I have made in my life much anymore because they have become so routine that they are now just a part of who I am and what I do on a day to day basis.

Looking back on the past 8 weeks here are the things I have accomplished:
  1. Rid the house of any food that is processed, contains high fructose corn syrup, refined grains, hydrogenated fats, artificial sweeteners, diet soda, artificial coloring/preservatives, glutamates, and nitrates/nitrites. So long everything white, sugary, artificial, and processed!
  2. Switched to organic for veggies, fruit, dairy, snacks, and meat.
  3. Tracked calories daily to ensure I don't go below 1200 and to track what I put in my body and how many calories I need to burn that day.
  4. Maintained a 1,000 calorie deficit each day.
  5. Completed a 30 - 90 minute workout 6x a week.
  6. Completely gave up Crystal Light & Diet Soda all together and replaced with unsweetened iced tea.
  7. Started doing family activities that were "active" at least 3x a week with Cristian.
  8. Educated myself on nutrition, health, fitness, and the science of food/your body by reading several books and through many long hours of research.  You should never stop learning...you will never know everything about anything, remain a student to any discipline, it is the only way to grow.
  9. Cut out red meat completely and only buy extra lean meats.
  10. Lost a total of 13 pounds and 7 1/2".
Overall, I feel like a different woman!  I don't get out of breath going up and down the stairs, I have this ridiculous annoying skip in my step when I am out and about, and my shorts that were very tight on me just a couple months ago now slide off without unbuttoning them!

I look forward to working out with Lara and have been getting up early enough before work to get in a 3 mile workout to start off my day all week.  I love our family dog walking/bike riding time around the nature trails in the community.  Most of all, I love how great it feels to fuel my body with healthy food and not poison and to feel my body start to get back in shape.

I can't wait for the next 8 weeks!

What are you proud of accomplishing in the past 8 weeks?  Or...what are you motivated to set out to accomplish in the next 8 weeks?  Make a list!  It is empowering!

Keep Moving,
M E
