After starting out my day today with a 3 mile power walk with Leslie Sansone I decided to end it with Tony Horton's Sculpt Level 3 - 4 and wow...he kicked my ass!
It felt great to get such a great workout early in the day. My calorie burn went to 8.6 calories a minute during the workout and then stayed between 3.5 and 8 for many hours later. We decided to move up to Tony Horton's Level 3 - 4 disc and popped in the Sculpt one for the evening.
I recently purchased some much needed 8 pound weights so I was ready...or so I thought! Wow! What a workout. 15 - 20 reps of each exercise, no stops in between, and more push ups than I could possibly count. He had push ups with your hands wide, close together, shoulder width, feet up on a chair, slow and hold and all the way to as fast as you can for a steady minute. All I have to say is my arms are BURNING! When I grow up...I want push ups to be as easy for me as they are for Tony! LOL!
So, today I accomplished 90 minutes of exercise total! Hell yeah!!!
Okay, so for those that know me, know that I really love Jillian Michael's and her workouts. So, it is no surprise that I own 2 of her books, "Winning it by losing it" and "Master your metabolism cookbook". I have learned SO much about the science of my body, how my body processes food, what is considered "healthy" and "unhealthy"...and am shocked by some of the things I have discovered...this week I realized that my beloved Crystal Light is sweetened with ASPARTAME of all things...Seriously? So, if it wasn't hard enough for me to kick my Diet Soda addiction, I now have to kiss my Crystal Light good-bye :(
So this week I said good-bye to Diet Coke, Crystal Light, Heinz Ketchup (has high fructose syrup), and Splenda....Pray that my body starts to LIKE water SOON. I have been drinking water with my food recently, and while I love water when I workout and am breaking a sweat, it somehow doesn't do it for me when I am eating a meal...But, I am trying to convince my body it loves it anyway :)
Tomorrow is going to be a GREAT day.
Keep Moving,
M E
