This has been a non-stop day and honestly I am so exhausted that I can't tell what hurts more, my head or my feet!  We kicked off the day with our "Community Garage Sale".  Our community does this once a year and so we thought that we would put some things out there that were going to go to Goodwill or craigslist anyway to see if we could make a little $$$.  The garage sale didn't start until 8am.  My body decided at 5am it was going to wake up.  The concept of 2 hours sleep means nothing to this crap body.  I managed to stay in bed until about 6 and then decided to just get up since I couldn't go back to sleep.  I headed out to the garage to pull and clean off some of the items and lug the table out front and you know what I was greeted with at 6 freaking o'clock in the morning?  Idiots already hunting for garage sale items.  Seriously?  Just when I thought I had seen it all, I noticed as I walked around front that the neighbor across the street from me not only had her entire lawn full of stuff already setup but a handful of customers.  Did I mention it was only 6am?  Sleep was sounding even better at that point.  I am usually a morning person but this morning I wanted to slap anyone who looked at me...:)

Lara and I discovered that not only is Cristian a natural born entertainer but also a natural salesman.  We had a Dell desktop with monitor, keyboard, mouse, and a sweet set of creative labs speakers, 2 boxes of ceramic tile, tv and wall mount, set of Klipsche speakers on stands, power wheels ford f150 truck, a big wheel, ikea kids chair, rolling file cabinet, and a patio 2-seater swing out front.  Cristian went into "sales mode" and I mean full out sales mode anytime anyone approached our yard.  It was quite entertaining and we could not stop laughing - it was so damn cute.  One guy that came up got such a kick out of Cristian.  This will definitely make you laugh out loud :)

C - (sitting in the Ikea kid chair) You really should buy this way cool chair for your kids.  It is super comfy.  It used to be my chair but now we are going to sell it.  It is great for kids and only $5.
Guy - (With a serious and entertained look on his face) So, tell me about this great chair of yours.  Why should I buy it again?
C - Oh, it is really comfy.  It bounces (he was demonstrating) and rocks and is so fun.  You can sit in it, read a book, or just rock and watch tv.  (Gets up from chair)  See this - the fabric on the chair just comes right off and you can put it in your washing machine.  It is just a cool chair and you should buy it for your kids so they can have a cool chair like I did.
Guy - (trying to keep a straight face) Oh, wow I see. That does sound like a great chair.
C - See I told you.  You need it for your kids.  (moves over to box of tiles)  See this tile?  This tile is so nice.  Come touch it.  (Guy comes over and touches it)  See how smooth that is? It won't hurt your hands and it will be cool under your feet when you are walking in your house and getting a snack.  It is really nice tile.  My mom got it and so you should get it for your house.
Guy - That is pretty nice tile buddy.
C - (Wasting no time goes over to the swing) Yeah and this was our swing in our backyard but we don't need it anymore so you can buy it now.  Sit down and I will show you how cool it is.  (He starts pushing this guy on the swing while telling him he has to buy it because it is so great)  You can sit here with your kids or your wife and look at the stars or just swing or have ice cream and it is so big that you can fit lots of people in it (climbs on swing with him to show him).
Guy - (gets up laughing because Cristian is tripping him out)  You are an awesome salesman dude.  If I owned my own company I would hire you today to be my top sales guy!  You are something special.
C - Oh cool.  So you going to buy my stuff?
Guy - (Laughing)  Buddy I don't need any of this stuff, although it is all so great.  You are such a smart kid!
C - Yup, I am smarter than the average bear!

Lara, myself, this guy and everyone within ear shot started laughing so hard.  LOL!  Oh man...my boy is something else.  This guy thought Cristian was such a riot that even though he didn't need anything we were selling he gave Cristian $1 just for being so funny and entertaining.  Cristian was super excited and told Lara "Look mommy I made a whole $1 and the man didn't even take any of my stuff!"  Ha...  even now, after a very long and trying day, re-telling that story, I can't help but smile again.  :)  When it was all said and done though we sold everything except the Power Wheel and TV.  Woot!

We are supposed to list the house Monday afternoon but the rain all weekend really put a dent in our plans.  We still have to finish some things inside the house and need to clean out garage and knock down the dog run we had setup in the garage.  It is a 4 foot tall wall made of wood...I "hired" my friend's 19 yr old to come tomorrow and knock that sucker down for me.  He is such a sweetie :)  Tomorrow, Lara and I have to finish the inside of the house, finish touch up paint in one room, take last of the things to storage, load up giveaways to take on Monday, and clean out garage...I feel another long day with no sleep coming :(  Moving is hard work...

We went out to Greenacres today and visited our dogs!  They seem very happy although Genna did not want to go back in the kennel after she enjoyed 20 minutes of freedom romping in the big fenced area with us.  LOL!  We took a big box of dog treats with us and we were giving them some treats when we were playing with them.  In order to get a treat they have to sit.  Of course, Sabrina and Mu as soon as they see something in your hand are at your feet sitting like pretty girls waiting for the treat.  Genna, the 7 month old Great Pyrenees Mix, decided that sitting and listening are just not her thing.  Instead she would wait for one of the other dogs to run off with their treat and then she would snatch the treat straight out of their mouth and run away with it!  Little stinker!  We are going to visit them 2 - 3 times a week.  It isn't the same as having them home though.  I miss them :(

Hope sleep comes easy tonight...I really need some rest.

Cheers,
M E
