Today started a little rough but ended on a high note.  I headed out the door by 6:15am to get to the office by 7am.  Yes, I worked from the actual office today.  My boss is in town this week and I wanted to see him for our one-on-one meeting.  I don't get that luxury very often.  :)  It wasn't such a bad drive into the office.  I arrived at 7:05.  Discovered something interesting at work today.  It seems that all IT staff in the Dallas office will become telecommuters by 6/30.  That is pretty neat :)

Vet called with results of Mu's blood panels.  Everything came back normal.  They have absolutely no idea what is causing the lameness in her legs.  The medicine she is on has been helping.  She isn't limping on her back leg anymore and doesn't seem to be in pain.  I feel so bad for her.  This has happened several times but usually the same leg is affected.  Now that it is shifting from her front to back legs, I am really concerned.  I almost wish something would have tested positive in the blood panel so at least we would know what is causing this.  I hate to just keep giving her rounds of these meds each time she has an episode.  I am beginning to wonder if it is nerve related in some way that doesn't show in xrays or tests.  I take her back once the meds are done for more xrays and another exam so we will see what happens.  My poor pup :(

I still cannot believe how much DUST is piled on everything from the tile work.  Let me just say that I have a whole NEW level of respect for my fellow Texans without the luxury of air conditioning the past 2 days because it gets so humid in the house with nothing but open windows.  It hit about 90 in the house yesterday and high 80's today.  I'm spoiled, I will admit it...I wasn't bred for this kind of heat. :)  The great news?  The tile is laid in about 3/4 of the area so they will finish laying the tile tomorrow and then come grout it on Thursday.  Carpet comes in Friday so that will be installed on Monday.  The tile looks SO nice.  Almost makes me want to stay in this house...almost..but no cigar :)

Since our appliances are in the living room currently we had to go out for dinner.  I wish I had a video camera to tape this funny child of mine because he seems to always come up with the funniest stuff.  He will never believe me when he gets older and thinks his dear old mom has lost her marbles.  Ha...This is how our conversation went at dinner tonight:

Cristian - When I grow up mom I want to just live with you...I don't ever want to leave my family.
Lara - Well honey when you grow up you will have a family of your own, your own house...
Cristian - (getting teary eyed) No...I just want to stay with my parents.  I want to live with you.
Lara - When you get older do you want to get married?
Cristian -  Yes.
Lara - Who do you think you will marry?
Cristian - Ashley of course.
Lara - What do you think Ashley will think of living with your parents when she is grown up?
Cristian - (starting to cry) She will be happy.  I am not leaving my family.  I just want to be with you and Mimi.
M E - Okay bud.  You can live with me and mommy as long as you want to but you will have to start paying rent once you are all grown up to stay in our house.
Cristian - (no more tears and all perked up)  OK Mimi.  No problem.  Ummm..Mimi?  What is rent?
M E - Rent is when you pay money to someone for staying at their house.
Cristian - Ohhhh okay.  Yes yes yes I will pay the rent and stay with you.
M E - Okay, how much do you think you will pay in rent when you are grown up?
Cristian - (with a straight poker face that would have you rolling) Oh lots of money. I will give you $3 for me and $3 for Ashley.
M E - (totally playing along) Oh, okay.  Do you think you and Ashley will have any dogs to keep at the house?
Cristian - Hmm...Yes we will have a small dog and I will pay you $1 rent for the dog.
M E - What about children?  Will you and Ashley also have children living in our house?
Cristian - I don't know yet.  I will have to discuss this with Ashley.

Lara and I could not stop rolling.  OMG, where does he come up with this stuff?  If you could have seen how serious he looked, you wouldn't have been able to stop yourself from grinning.  He is just too damn cute.  What a great way to end the day..laughing with my awesome kid :)

So exhausted that I can't seem to keep my eyes open.  Going to hit the hay "early" tonight and see if I can stay asleep long enough for it to count.  :)

Cheers,
M E
