This week has been a pretty triumphant week for me.  In the last 7 days I have averaged a calorie burn of 2774, 1 hour and 10 minutes of physical activity, and 8316 steps!

I still cannot believe that I have been not only meeting all my daily goals but exceeding them!  When I was doing gruesome gym workouts, DVD workouts, boot camp workouts at the park, etc...I felt like I was putting myself through hell week every time I stepped on an elliptical or in front of the TV yet I frequently still missed my daily goals of burning 2400 calories, 5000 steps, and 45 minutes of clocked physical activity.  There is nothing more defeating than feeling like you have sweat your pants off and still not see much calorie burn to show for it...Now, I play tennis for a good 2 hours a day and manage to keep breaking past ALL my goals and it doesn't even feel like I have "worked out".  While playing I feel THE workout because it is physically demanding to play tennis but it doesn't feel like exercise.  It is so enjoyable and time FLIES!

How awesome that now I am surpassing my goals without even trying?

I have decided to set some new goals for myself.  Since I have been meeting the ones I started out with it is definitely time to up the challenge.  Here are my new goals:
Calories Burned:  3,000
Steps:  10,000
Physical Activity:  2 hours

The physical activity is the tricky part.  Physical activity isn't actually clocked by how many minutes you do something but rather how many minutes your body worked hard enough for it to declare what you are doing as true physical activity.  So I may play tennis for 3 hours but only 2 hours of that may actually *count* as true physical activity...

Today Lara and I bought a new measuring tape, pink at that!  Ha - me and pink, what is the deal?  Funny twist of irony...but, there you have it, a pink measuring tape.  We will be doing our measurements in the morning and will post the progress then.  Next weigh in is November 17th.

Had an awesome Halloween with the kiddo.  He dressed up as a warrior king and had so much fun running from house to house for candy.  We walked about 2 hours and I burned 492 calories just from walking him around for trick or treating.  Not too shabby I must say...

Played tennis this morning with Lara for about 45 minutes until her calf muscle gave out again.  Damn old tennis injury...so now she is back off her leg for 2 days.  If it was up to her she would tape it tight and be back at the courts tomorrow but I told her she had to lay off it for at least 2 days and see how it feels.  Don't want her to seriously injure herself...

Have I mentioned how incredibly READY I am for my vacation?  I cannot wait to take a break from life and play in the world of magic and make believe in the land of Disney :)  6 days of Disney fun...woohoo!  Then I get 6 days with my family for Thanksgiving....I sure have a lot to be thankful for :)

Keep Moving,
M E
