Last night I had the pleasure of attending a Middle School Concert Band Spring Concert where the 12 year old playing the Euphonium just happens to be one of my favorite girls and it was pretty awesome!  I totally LOVED the tune they played called:  "Carnivore".  It had all kinds of neat percussion aspects to it and was the perfect blend of beat and sound.  I thought that the band was pretty amazing.  Cristian, with his larger than life hyperactive self, even sat still and watched "C" play the whole time and then he would clap and cheer for her at the end of each song.  That boy just ADORES that girl.  She is like the big sister he never had, but don't tell him I said that!  One day he got all bent out of shape!  He said that "C" just CAN'T be his sister!  When I asked him why he wouldn't want her as a big sister he said as if I was the dumbest mom in the world, "BECAUSE if she was my big sister then she would just boss me around and tell me what to do and I would have to do it so NO big sister she is just my favorite friend." LOL...kids really just make my day sometimes.

Check out the dynamic non-sibling duo:

She is so great with Cristian and he just thinks the world of her.  It is so cute.  I love that he has someone in his life to kind of "grow up" with since all his cousins and family live so far away...They sure know how to have fun and keep Lara and I on our toes!

Today was such a kick ass shopping day.  Now, anyone who knows me knows that I can be quite conservative when it comes to spending money...in fact, I hardly spend it on myself except in the form of family vacations and I cannot even remember the last time I went out and did some serious clothes shopping!  I have been wearing 18/20's for so long that looking back at my vacation photos from as far back as 7 years ago I see one constant similarity in ALL of them.  Lara and I are wearing the SAME clothes just mixed and matched with different tops on different trips, LOL...shows you how long this weight has been stuck in the same stubborn place!  ugh!  Well today I was never more excited to SPEND MONEY shopping because I have finally DROPPED to a size 16!!!  Can I get a hell yes?  Woot!

Well...since we have both officially dropped a couple pant sizes and lost quite a bit of weight I decided to declare this weekend the "If it's too big donate it" weekend.  We went through our dressers and closet and if anything was too big, no matter how super comfy it was, it was tossed in the "donate pile".  If we keep the clothes we outgrow then we will just eventually grow back in them!!  Turns out we really don't have much at all left to wear, go figure.  So I took us shopping because this family vacation, our Disney Cruise in June, we will NOT be wearing the same old stuff!  I want some new colors and clothes in those pictures!

Lara, who was wearing a 24/26 bought clothes that were a size 18 today and I tossed away my 20's and bought 16's!  I even fit in some 14/16 tops!  I'm loving it!

I did a before and after shot of myself to show how far I have come so far.  In the pic on the left I am actually wearing a 20/22 and a 2X shirt and in the right I am wearing a size 16 and an XL shirt.  :)  Just click the picture to enlarge it.  I feel so much better since eliminating all the crap out of my diet.  It is amazing how much "crap" there is in what we think is healthy once you start reading labels...I have a whole new love for food...

Before and after Lara soon to come...I have to wrestle the camera away from her and then snap it while making a run for it and land the shot in focus...piece of cake :)

Cheers,
M E
