Easter weekend is over and back to the grind I go tomorrow morning.  I had a fantastic weekend, insert sarcasm here.  I packed, moved boxes to storage, packed, moved boxes to donation center, packed and moved boxes to hallway, and started on the Master Bathroom.  Sounds fun doesn't it? I bet you wish you could have been here for all that.  You know what? Me too. LOL!  But, the Easter Bunny did hop over to our house and left Cristian the "Easter Bunny Donald Duck" that he asked for in his letter.  He was so damn cute - he danced and sang with that Donald Duck ALL morning and he carried it with him everywhere we went today.  That boy of mine just makes me smile. :)

Lara tackled the shower, removing all the old caulking and then putting new caulking in, which is a chore for sure.  I repainted the entire bathroom including the baseboards.  1 more day of work and the Master bath should be good as new!  Then we can tackle the bedroom.  Other than some paint touch-ups and repainting the doors and baseboards, I don't think the Master bedroom will take long to get into "show" shape.

I think we have figured out what to do about the tile dilemma we have too.  Since we only have 3 left over tiles from builder which isn't enough to repair with and the bloody Mohawk series was discontinued a very long time ago and cannot be purchased anywhere, I think we are going to scratch the tile and just have laminate wood that matches the Master bedroom and the Study laid instead.  That would make the whole entry hallway and hallway leading to the other side of the house wood.  At least that is my best guess at this point.

I was scoping out houses although I am still not sure of where we are going to live or whether we will go with new construction again or resale...and cannot believe how many houses have crosses in almost all their pictures.  Okay, I know this is Texas, but c'mon...there was this one house with 14 crosses in one freaking room!  14!!!  Was there a recent exorcism I should know about?  Wow...So, I used to click the "x" when the paint colors would get all crazy or the bright blue counter tops would blind me, but now I just hit that easy button the second I spot a cross, yes I feel that scarred :)

Cristian cracked me up this weekend.  At first, when he found out we were going to move he didn't take the news so well.  He needs plenty of time to adjust to any change so I wasn't surprised when his first reaction was that we had to live in our house until he was a big daddy and married Ashley (his current love you know, lol) and that our house would just miss us and we can't leave it.  Now, he has moved past that to the "when do we get to move to our new house?  Can we move tomorrow? I told my friend at school I was moving to a different house tomorrow." LOL...The enthusiasm of children. :)  I have to kindly keep reminding him that first we have to get the house ready to sell and then someone has to buy it before we can think about moving.  Nah, that isn't the part that cracked me up...although thinking back on it is making me grin a bit.  Ha...We boxed up his toys this weekend to put into storage.  When I started with the first box I explained we had to put the toys in the box so we could keep them safe in storage until we moved to our new house.  He was NOT happy.  He had a whole story to go with each toy he was pulling OUT of the box I was packing and why it HAD to stay with him and it would be lonely without him and it just couldn't get packed up!  I had a few things I wanted to fire out of my mouth but instead I took a deep breath, smiled, and used a little Love & Logic.  I told him "No problem buddy. The toys you put in the box will go to the new house and the toys that stay outside the box will stay here in this house.  You're the boss, you put the toys wherever you think is best."  He saw me reach for the tape and started yelling, "WAIT don't tape it shut!" and literally started throwing his toys in piles into the box.  He filled up box #1 and started dancing around celebrating, "Yeah! I filled the box and now they are ALL coming to my new house" and then demanded more boxes.  What a happy nut he was after that.  It was much needed comic relief to a very long day.  :)

It's after midnight so happy early Monday to me...

Cheers,
M E
