Time flies when you are having fun, or is it when you are so busy that your days just blend together? Much has been happening in life the past month. Living in the fast lane lately with a non-stop go go go schedule. Whew, I am tired just thinking back on it all.
Cristian has had 2 football games so far this season. It is is first time playing flag football and although at first he was a little unsure of the concept of the game and what to do exactly, he has since then really gotten the hang of things and is loving it! He is one hell of a blocker and I just love seeing his face light up every time he does something in the game. Now, we just have to stop being afraid to catch the ball from a distance! I was playing catch with him before his game last Saturday and he did fine if we were close together but once I backed up a good 10 feet he was scared to catch the ball. Well, one throw, a perfect spiral I might add, came at him and he turned his head and left his hands too far apart to catch it and his right eye caught it instead. Next day he had a nice bruise under his eye. Naturally, he went to school the next day and told his teacher "my mom gave me this black eye Mrs T". Nice, eh? Oh that child of mine!
We also signed him up for USA Martial Arts nearby. I LOVE this dojo. They teach a multi-discipline program which incorporates Tae Kwan Do, Karate, and Ju Jitsu. Guess which is Cristian's favorite part of the class? Floor grappling of course! He has learned what to do if a bully grabs him in a bear hug from behind or attacks his upper body from the front. After he knocks someone down on their back and mounts on top of them he gets this silly grin on his face and just starts smiling with pride. I love that. It is so much fun to watch his class. I hope that it helps build his self-confidence and self-discipline up as he continues with it.
Our house is finally drywalled, bricked (minus one section), and has the new railing for the stairs in! We are still looking at a late october completion timeframe. I am SO ready to be OUT of this hotel and into my own home with a kitchen and space! C'mon October!
Today is day 37 on the hC3 Protocol and I am down 20.6 pounds! Can I get a hell yeah? :) I am stoked! I feel GREAT too. I don't lack in energy at all and feel completely satisfied all day long. I also don't have crazy food cravings anymore or better yet cravings for sugary things. It is nice to feel like my addiciton to some types of food has been broken. You don't realize how much of your day revolves around food until you take food out of the equation entirely. Try it - you just may surprise yourself as well. I have also learned all kinds of things on healthier cooking and can't wait to have my kitchen so I can start experimenting!!
I have a special delivery coming for Lara today from Amazon.com. I can't wait for it to get here! I ordered her the Keurig Platinum Coffee Maker with a variety of different K-cups from Gloria's jeans, Wolfgang Puck, and Coffee People! I'll call it an early house warming present :)
On another note, we are spending Thanksgiving break in San Antonio this year. I cannot wait. We both really need a vacation away from things for a bit. We are going to do the Dinner with Shamu and Dolphin encounter at Seaworld, hit up the Alamo again, go to Wonder World, and Inner Space Caverns. I also want to go see the Japenese Tea Garden with the waterfall. That would make such a pretty backdrop for pictures. My friend and her family moved to San Antonio this August from Florida after her husband was transferred there. He is in the Navy and has been for close to 18 years I believe. We are going to spend Thanksgiving with her and her sweet family. Cristian is so excited. He is completely smitten with her 12 yr old daughter and thinks he will marry her one day. It is cute. He can't wait to see "his girlfriend". There are so many things to be thankful for in life and good friends are definitely one of them. It will be great fun.
Cheers,
M E
